THE JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY
2017
Our journey towards advancing our core capabilities in mechanical building services started in early 2010 by exploring “3D autocad”.
Little did we know the first steps of curiosity sets us on a rabbit hole of something that is the future of the industry, something that will change everything we did in the past 30 years. The “3D autocad” adventure ultimately led us on the path of Building Information Modelling and all its entailing technologies, concepts and groundbreaking productivity that matches the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
We built our first official BIM team in around 2012.
The transition from traditional mindsets, practices and old habits were hard to break, and they come within and outside. There were definitely moments of self doubt, anguish and much pain during the learning journey.
However, we knew we were onto something that we cannot turn back and persevered. We hanged on and continue building.
In 2017, we are proud to achieve our first ever award in recognition of the new capabilities we developed. The BCA BIM AWARD (Organisation Category) GOLD certification.
It was a moment of pride, but more importantly, an assurance of our journey is on the right track.
2021
Going further, Achieve More.
We did not set out exactly to win awards, instead we focused on building our capabilities.
This is our principle since we first started on the journey more than 10 years back on BIM, whether there was recognition or encouragement. We continue building all the entailing capabilities like Virtual Design in Construction (VDC), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Green Buildings and Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD).
In 2021, a hard year after the pandemic started, we completed a project with various likeminded stakeholders and won the IDD Project Category Platinum award.
We didn’t set out to win awards, but when we do get recognition for our efforts, it’s heartwarming.
Continuing the learning journey for DFMA
We continue moving forward to challenge ourselves to stay relevant, learning something new, pushing our boundaries to ensure we are at the forefront of improving ourselves by learning about DFMA. We will keep pushing and hope to achieve more.
In 2023, we continue to retain our competency to qualify for DFMA, attaining a Certificate of Accreditation and a distinction award for digitisation, we look forward to next year!
